| Aharen is a popular tourist and sight-seeing spot, in retrospect, looking back at the days of the Ryukyu Dynasty Era it was well known as a harbor where courtesy ships to Toh (present China, then Ming and Shin) would stop to wait for favorable winds, this is also true for the Ago Bay in Zamami Island. It is held on May 4th according to the lunar calendar and is known as Haari. |
